PM-LED™ Correction


Automated solution for color and brightness correction of LED panels.

PM-LED™ Correction is a turnkey system that enables manufacturers to achieve color and brightness uniformity in the LED display panels used to construct large video screens for stadiums, arenas and outdoor advertising or large indoor displays. This system offers superior speed, accuracy and repeatability, as well as reduced sensitivity to alignment, compared to prior methods based on a spot colorimeter and x-y translation system.

PM-LED™ Correction utilizes our PM-1400 Series Imaging Colorimeter to precisely measure the luminance and chromaticity of each pixel of an LED panel. System software that has been developed for each customer then automatically sends correction coefficients to the panel control electronics. These adjust each LED to achieve a predetermined level of chromaticity and luminance uniformity, for example the NTSC specification targets.

PM-LED™ Correction comes in two configurations – an enclosed test station and a dark room test system. The enclosed test station consists of a light proof chamber that enables the user to calibrate LED panels on a factory floor with high levels of ambient lighting. The dark room test system is suited for R&D environments where ambient lighting can be arbitrarily controlled. This system can be used to calibrate single panel and multi-panel displays.

PM-LED™ Correction was developed using the ActiveX interface. The use of ActiveX controls in our software enables it to be extended by the user to perform customized, automated tests using software such as LabView, Matlab, VBA, VBScript, Javascript, C and C++.
